Hi everyone, This was meant to come out yesterday, but I'm taking this as a response to my skepticism on the subject matter from the book club I got to join this week, Climb Book Club with Beth Houtrow. The book was "400 Weeks: Time Management for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman."

A quote that jumped out at me was, "...you never get a single week, in the sense of being able to guarantee that it will arrive, or that you'll be in a position to use it precisely as you wish. Instead, you just find yourself in each moment as it comes, already thrown into this time and place, with all the limitations that entails, and unable to feel certain. about what might happen next." I thought to myself: "Surely a few of the 4K weeks we've been given will go to plan." Ha. Ha. The next day I started to get sick. Most of my week was laying in bed watching Star Trek (my comfort show) and drinking tea. My rec: get the Yogi Immune Support tea it tastes amazing and works. Reply and I'll send you a picture. First lesson is do not challenge the Planning Deities because they will make you eat your words. But, more importantly: learn to surrender to the process. Last year was spent mostly recalibrating and recovering from burnout. As I move forward in my business, there's this urge to "catch back up" and "get all of the things done." The to do list never ends, but that's also comforting in a way. It will be there when we have the energetic capacity. |
